Public practices considered beneficial

Despite the relatively boring title of this post, the news is good: we have now had a number of practices in the back bar of the Royal Oak and the pros far outweigh the cons, as follows:

Pros:
  1. There is beer on tap.
  2. The floor is excellent.
  3. Punters wander round to watch us.
  4. The staff like us because we make use of (1).
  5. People delivering paintings to us can find us easily.
Cons:
  1. The dog likes to join in.
  2. Some of the punters distract some of the dancers by being attractive at them.
  3. We can't run on late because of the session in the main bar.
The Session - still not annoyed
On balance, we shall continue to practice here for the foreseeable future. The punters who do come to see us typically do so at the start of practice, so we treat that as a warm-up then get on with stuff that is less interesting to watch later on.

Pub practice: take two

Following a remarkably successful, if short, practice at The Royal Oak last week, we've decided to do it again. None of us was led astray by the temptation of delicious beer, the sniffing dog didn't distract us and we even garnered a crowd to watch! Uncanny.
